Frequently Asked Questions

Can you provide NZQA unit standards?

Yes, Peak Safety Training is a Category 1 Private Training Establishment and has consent to assess units under section 452 or 449 of the Education and Training Act. 

Unit standards available on our courses are listed in the course description. 

What payment methods do you accept?

We issue invoices for all of our courses. They can be paid by direct deposit or by credit card online through our payment platform, Stripe. We do not accept over-the-phone payments, nor do our tutors process EFTPOS payments on the day. Payment must be processed before the course.

How do I change my booking?

If you need to change your booking, please phone 07 349 0903 or email [email protected]. Please read through our terms and conditions for transfer fees.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can get a refund if it falls within our cancellation terms and conditions.

What should I wear on the course?

Wear comfortable clothing suitable for practical scenarios, including attire for various weather conditions. Our courses are practical, and some venues are outdoors, so please bring plenty of warm clothing.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring lunch, snacks, a water bottle, and warm clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor scenarios. If the weather is rainy, please bring a raincoat.

Do you provide catering on the courses?

No, we do not provide full catering. 

We provide tea, coffee and biscuits. We ask learners to bring their own lunch and snacks to the course. 

When does my First Aid certificate expire?

First Aid certificates are valid for 2 years. You have a 3-month grace period to rebook another course. 

Do you have child minding services?

There are no childcare facilities available. Children and babies are not permitted in the classroom. However, breastfeeding mothers should contact us before the course. An additional caregiver will be needed to care for the baby between feeds.

When will I get my certificate?

Your certificate will be sent electronically to the email address provided during enrolment. Certificates are typically issued within ten business days. Please note that all outstanding invoices must be settled before we can release your certificate.

If you have not received your certificate within two weeks of course completion or require it urgently, please contact us at 07 349 0903 or email at [email protected].

Can I do the course if I have a disability?

You need to be able to kneel on the floor to do CPR. Please contact us 07 349 0903 or email  [email protected] to see how and if we can accommodate you. 

Do you have a minimum age limit on your First Aid?

Yes, participants must be 14 years or older.

What is the duration for First Aid courses?

1 Day First Aid courses are 8 hours

2 Day First Aid courses are 14 hours

Are there any prerequisites for attending the courses?

There are no specific prerequisites for most of our First Aid courses, but we recommend participants have a basic understanding of English and are physically capable of performing CPR.

What happens if the course is cancelled by Peak Safety Training?

If we cancel a course, participants will be notified as soon as possible, and we will offer a full refund or the option to transfer to another course date.

Can I contact an instructor directly with questions before the course?

For any specific questions, please contact our main office, and we will direct your query to the appropriate instructor.
