Agricultural First Aid

Farm workers administer first aid in a green paddock

Our primary industries are a huge part of our economy. Whether it's out in the back blocks of a dry stock station, in the orchard, or in the cowshed, occasionally sh*t happens.

We’ve developed a course that sets up participants to manage agricultural-based emergencies in areas that the ambulance service will likely take some time to get to. Expect a hands-on, scenario heavy, fun training day. These courses are usually run on-farm and cover scenarios involving vehicles, difficult terrain and the type of injuries more likely to occur in those settings. Course content will include:

  • accident site management
  • thorough patient assessments
  • head, spine and crush injuries
  • bleeds
  • vehicle accidents
  • fractures and dislocations
  • medical emergencies
  • hypothermia
  • CPR and defibrillation

Expect worksite-specific scenarios where participants can learn and apply emergency processes that are relevant to their agricultural setting.

Get your Ag staff or rural community group together and we’ll design a course based on your needs and location..

Unit standards are available – please select these on registration or email us to find out what is available.
